Deep gloss and paint protection in one step with the Koch-Chemie Lack-Polish green "P1.03" finishing polish

The Koch-Chemie Lack-Polish green "P1.03" is a finishing polish with a cut level of 1.0 and a gloss level of 9.5 that refines as-new and freshly corrected paint of all kinds, clears holograms and light scratches, and protects against the elements at the same time — usable by machine or by hand, and Daimler-approved.

In the Koch-Chemie Polish System, the Lack-Polish green "P1.03" is the finishing product, full stop. With a cut level of 1.0 — the lowest in the whole range — and a gloss level of 9.5, it's built for exactly one job: pulling the deepest gloss and smoothest finish out of paint that's either as-new or already been corrected with cutting polishes. For dealerships getting new cars showroom-ready, and for detailers laying down the last finishing pass after a multi-stage polish, the P1.03 is the logical way to close things out.

  • Cut 1.0 / gloss 9.5 — the best of both worlds — The P1.03 has just enough bite to clear light holograms and polishing haze, but a good deal less than a classic cutting polish. What you get is a high-gloss finish that needs no further polishing.
  • Protection, care and refinement in one step — The formula carries nourishing components that shield the treated paint from harsh weather. No separate sealing step needed — for quick turnarounds, that's the more efficient call.
  • Daimler-approved and works on every paint type — The P1.03 suits all paint types, from modern scratch-resistant clearcoats to the softer original paint on older cars. The Daimler approval underlines how well it plays even with high-end OEM paint.

What the Lack-Polish green P1.03 does in the polishing process

The P1.03 is the next step up from the proven P1.02. With the new version Koch-Chemie improved two things above all: colour depth and how easily it wipes off. That sounds like small tweaks, but day-to-day it makes a real difference: better colour depth means dark paint looks richer and deeper after the job — and with no extra work. Easier wipe-off means less elbow grease when you go back over it with the microfibre, and cleaner results even by hand.

In the Koch-Chemie Polish System the P1.03 is typically the third or final polishing step: step 1 (heavy correction with Heavy Cut H9.02) → step 2 (fine correction with Fine Cut F6.01) → step 3 (finish with Lack-Polish green P1.03). On cars with only surface-level holograms, or on new vehicles, the P1.03 can also be run as the only polishing step.

How to use it: by machine with a dual-action, optionally with rotary

You apply the P1.03 by machine with a dual-action polisher and the matching Polish & Sealing Foam Pad Green — this green pad is set up in the Koch-Chemie colour system specifically for this polish. For maximum gloss with minimal correction, go with the soft green pad; if you want a touch more cut from the P1.03, switch to a harder pad, which bumps the cutting action up moderately. When you do want a stronger abrasive effect, the polish can also be run with a Fine Cut Pad on a rotary polisher.

For working by hand — on small areas, say, or with the Koch-Chemie hand polishing pad "Puck" — the P1.03 works just as well. The formula is built so it spreads evenly and wipes off residue-free even when you lay it down by hand.

Lack-Polish green P1.03 vs. Lack-Polish purple P2.03: who needs which?

In the Koch-Chemie range the Lack-Polish purple P2.03 is a polish that offers more correction than the P1.03 at a cut level of 2.0. The choice between them is quick: for nothing more than light holograms on as-new paint, or as the final finishing step after a cutting polish, you reach for the green P1.03. If you want to correct light to medium scratches in one step and pull a high-gloss finish at the same time, grab the purple P2.03. For dealerships prepping new vehicles and chasing maximum gloss with minimal time, the P1.03 is the obvious pick — it works fast, has no real dwell time, and wipes off without fiddly rework.

Day-to-day from Detailing1: Only use the P1.03 on paint that's already been cleaned and degreased — ideally after a prep pass with the Panel Preparation Spray PPS. That way you can see, before the final polish step, whether there are still holograms in the paint, and you can deal with them on the spot. It saves time and stops you laying a sealant over a surface that wasn't fully corrected.

Who is the Lack-Polish green P1.03 the right pick for?

The P1.03 is ideal for dealerships prepping new or demo cars day in, day out, who need a finishing product that works fast. For keen hobby detailers it's the perfect close to a multi-stage polish: after the heavy and fine cutting polishes, the P1.03 brings the paint up to that final showroom gloss without needing a separate sealing step. In the 1,000 ml size it's a sound buy for pro outfits and for home users working through several cars alike.

Frequently asked questions about the Lack-Polish green "P1.03" finishing polish

What is the Koch-Chemie Lack-Polish green P1.03 and what makes it special?

The Koch-Chemie Lack-Polish green P1.03 is a finishing polish with a cut level of 1.0 and a gloss level of 9.5 for all paint types. It refines as-new and freshly corrected paint, removes light holograms and polishing haze, and protects the treated surfaces from the elements — all in one pass. A firm favourite in dealerships for getting new vehicles presentation-ready in a hurry.

How do you use the Lack-Polish green P1.03 properly?

Apply the P1.03 by machine with a dual-action polisher and the Polish & Sealing Foam Pad Green as a thin film. Buff the polish residue to a high gloss with a clean Polish & Sealing Towel. Working by hand with a soft sponge is fine too. Shake before use, and don't use it on hot surfaces.

Lack-Polish green P1.03 vs. Lack-Polish purple P2.03 — what's the difference?

The green P1.03 (cut 1.0) is a pure finishing product for as-new paint, or paint already corrected after a cutting polish — maximum gloss, minimal abrasiveness. The purple P2.03 (cut 2.0) offers more correction and suits lightly to moderately weathered paint where light scratches still need to come out. For pure presentation prep: P1.03. For correction and finish in one step: P2.03.

Which paint types is the Lack-Polish green P1.03 suitable for?

The P1.03 suits all paint types — from modern scratch-resistant OEM clearcoats to the softer original paint on older cars. The Daimler approval confirms it plays well even with high-end factory paint. It's not meant as a cutting polish for deep scratches or heavy oxidation — that's where the Heavy Cut or Fine Cut polishes are the right call.

Do I still need a sealant after the Lack-Polish green P1.03?

Not necessarily. The P1.03 carries nourishing components that protect the paint from the elements. For short-term prep or presentation work, the polish's own protective effect is enough. For lasting long-term protection we'd recommend a ceramic coating or a hard wax after the P1.03 — first strip the polish residue off the paint with a degreaser (e.g. Panel Preparation Spray PPS).
