COLOURLOCK Nubuck Fresh for Range Rover: specialized suede and velour leather care

What is COLOURLOCK Nubuck Fresh for Range Rover? — The specialized suede and nubuck care preserves the texture and color of rough natural leathers in Range Rover interiors — specially developed for velour, nubuck, and Alcantara.

COLOURLOCK Nubuck Fresh (Range Rover) is a special care dye for rough-textured suede, nubuck, and velour surfaces in Range Rover leather interiors. Unlike Leather Colour or Leather Fresh, Nubuck Fresh is not intended for smooth pigmented leather — the formulation is designed to preserve the fine fiber structure of suede and prevent it from sticking together.

• Suede-specific – Specially formulated for rough-textured natural leathers.
• Maintains the velour look – Prevents fibers from sticking together or becoming smooth.
• Original Range Rover colors – Factory-accurate pigmentation for seamless care.

💡 Detailing1 Workshop Tip: We often see the same user error with Range Rover suede seats — customers treat the suede with normal smooth leather care, which then causes the fibers to stick together and look flattened. With Nubuck Fresh (Range Rover) and a fine brass brush in 5 minutes of care, the typical velour look is maintained. After drying, brush lightly again — the fibers will then stand up soft and velvety.

Brush dry, spray, work in the direction of the fibers

Nubuk Fresh (Range Rover) is sprayed evenly onto the suede from a distance of 20–30 cm with a spray bottle and worked in the direction of the fibers with a soft brush. After drying, brush again for the typical velour look.

Before care, the suede is dry-brushed with a soft suede brush or fine brass brush to remove dust and stubborn dirt. Then, it is wet-cleaned with a special suede cleaner and allowed to dry completely. Only then is Nubuk Fresh (Range Rover) sprayed from a distance of 20–30 cm — avoid puddling, spread immediately.

The color is worked in the direction of the fibers with a soft suede brush or fine brass brush until the pigmentation is evenly distributed. After 30–45 minutes of drying, the leather is lightly re-brushed so that the fibers stand up and the typical velvety-matte velour look is created. A 250 ml bottle is sufficient for approximately 4–5 care applications on mid-range vehicles with an Alcantara steering wheel and suede seats.

Suede and velour yes, smooth leather no

Nubuk Fresh (Range Rover) is exclusively for rough-textured natural leathers — suede, nubuck, velour, and Alcantara. Pigmented Range Rover smooth leathers are treated with Leather Colour or Leather Fresh.

The special carrier solution with finely pigmented dyes combines with the rough fiber structure without sticking or weighing it down. On smooth pigmented leather, Nubuk Fresh would adhere unevenly because the typical fiber structure is missing — the care would appear spotty instead of even. On aniline leather, the fiber would not be sufficiently protected; here, aniline-specific COLOURLOCK lines are needed.

If the Range Rover vehicle has genuine suede seats, an Alcantara steering wheel, or velour door panels, Nubuk Fresh is the only correct care product. If, on the other hand, the interior consists of pigmented smooth leather, Leather Fresh (Range Rover) or Leather Colour (Range Rover) is used. For mixed interiors (suede seats, smooth leather doors), both products are used in parallel.

For suede seats and Alcantara steering wheels

Nubuk Fresh (Range Rover) is the care solution for owners and detailers with genuine suede or Alcantara components — applied every 6–12 months, it keeps the leather velvety and colorfast permanently.

Suede and velour leather get dirty faster than smooth leather and fade more under UV light. The care routine every 6–12 months prevents deep penetration of dirt and protects the fiber from permanent fading. For heavily used vehicles or family cars, a 3-month rhythm is also worthwhile. One application takes about 45 minutes per pair of seats, including brushing and drying — costs per application are around 6 euros in material costs.

For pigmented smooth leather components in the same vehicle, Leather Fresh (Range Rover) is used — both products complement each other in the workflow. If you are looking for a complete care bundle for suede and smooth leather, you can also check out the Leather Care Set (Range Rover), which contains both components.

Care Instructions for Suede (Range Rover):

Nubuk Fresh (Range Rover) is exclusively for rough-textured natural leathers — suede, nubuck, velour, and Alcantara. Pigmented Range Rover smooth leather is treated with Leather Colour or Leather Fresh.

The special carrier solution with finely pigmented dyes binds with the rough fiber structure without sticking or weighing it down. On smooth pigmented leather, Nubuk Fresh would adhere unevenly because the typical fiber structure is missing — the care would appear patchy rather than even. On aniline leather, the fibers would not be sufficiently protected; here, aniline-specific COLOURLOCK lines are needed.
