Leather Repair Dye for VW / Spot Repair 20 ml
The highly pigmented repair paint in a 20 ml tube is ideal for precise damage repair on VW leather — without the need for elaborate spray equipment.
Clean and degrease the damaged area, fill with filler if necessary, and smooth with 1000-grit sanding fleece. Apply Fluid Leather (VW) to a soft brush or sponge and dab precisely onto the repair area – in 1–2 thin coats, crosswise, allowing 20–30 minutes to dry between coats. After 4 hours, seal with Top Coat. One 20ml tube is sufficient for 5–8 steering wheel repairs.

¿Qué es el COLOURLOCK Fluid Leather para VW? — Esta pintura de reparación muy pigmentada en tubo de 20 ml es perfecta para retocar un punto concreto en cuero VW — sin sacar todo el equipo de pistola.
COLOURLOCK Fluid Leather (VW) es una pintura de reparación de cuero líquida y muy pigmentada en tubo de 20 ml — pensada para la reparación puntual de pequeños daños como grietas, arañazos y pérdida de color en interiores de cuero VW. El color parte de las muestras cromáticas VW originales y se aplica limpio con pincel o esponja.

💡 Lo que vemos en el día a día: Tiramos del Fluid Leather (VW) para las reparaciones de volante — el desgaste clásico a las 12. De un tubo sacas 5–8 volantes. Pincel de cerdas blandas, das toques cruzando, dejas secar 30 min entre manos, Top Coat Dull encima — no lo distingues de uno nuevo.
Desengrasa la zona, das toques donde toca, sella con Top Coat
El Fluid Leather (VW) sale directo del tubo de 20 ml a un pincel blando o una esponja, y das toques cruzando en 1–2 manos finas sobre la zona a reparar. Entre medias 20–30 min de secado, y al final sellas con Top Coat.
Antes de la reparación limpias la zona con limpiador de cuero y la desengrasas con plastic cleaner o alcohol de limpieza. Las grietas más profundas las rellenas primero con Filler o Super Filler y las lijas suaves con vellón abrasivo del 1000. Después das toques con el Fluid Leather (VW) muy pigmentado justo sobre la zona preparada — manos finas cruzadas cubren mejor que una mano gruesa.
Una vez curado del todo tras unas 4 horas, sellas con Top Coat Dull o Glossy para que la reparación aguante el roce. Un tubo de 20 ml te da para 5–8 reparaciones de volante o unas 15 reparaciones sueltas de grietas. El coste por reparación ronda los 10 euros, y una restauración completa de volante lleva unas 3 horas con el secado incluido.
Reparación puntual sí, grandes superficies no
El Fluid Leather (VW) es la solución para reparaciones puntuales — grietas sueltas, arañazos o pequeñas marcas de desgaste hasta unos 5x5 cm. Las reparaciones más grandes piden Leather Colour en el formato de 250 ml o 1 litro.
La alta pigmentación y el formato tubo hacen que el Fluid Leather cunda mucho y siga siendo preciso — incluso en cuero oscuro una mano suele bastar para cubrir a fondo. Pero en reparaciones de más de 5x5 cm o costados de asiento enteros el tubo se queda corto, y dar toques a mano deja de compensar. El ante y el velour piden de todos modos Nubuk Fresh (VW), porque el Fluid Leather apelmazaría la textura rugosa.
Si solo vas a reparar el desgaste de volante a las 12 o grietas sueltas, el Fluid Leather es la opción más económica y precisa. Si restauras asientos enteros, volantes o paneles de puerta, merece la pena pasarse al Leather Colour (VW) o al Complete Repair Set (VW) con todos los componentes.
Para preparadores con algún punto dañado
El Fluid Leather (VW) es la solución para reparaciones puntuales concretas — preparadores, talleres independientes y dueños entusiastas que quieren reparar el desgaste de volante o grietas sueltas con precisión.
En la puesta a punto de coches de ocasión, el desgaste de volante a las 12 es el clásico. Un tubo de Fluid Leather cuesta unos 67 euros y da para 5–8 reparaciones de volante — o sea, un coste de material de unos 10 euros por reparación. Con pincel y Top Coat, toda la reparación por volante ronda las 3 horas con el secado incluido. Tras dos semanas de uso el resultado no se distingue de un volante nuevo.
Para pura cura sin daños, el Fluid Leather es el camino equivocado — ahí basta con Leather Fresh (VW). Para costados enteros o piezas completas compensa pasarse al Leather Colour. Pero si lo que quieres es reparar puntos dañados sueltos con la fidelidad de color OEM, con el tubo de 20 ml tienes la herramienta que más cunde y más precisa de la gama COLOURLOCK.

How do I apply Fluid Leather (VW)?
Clean and degrease the damaged area, if necessary, level and sand with filler. Apply Fluid Leather directly from the tube onto a brush/sponge and dab precisely onto the repair area. Let it dry, apply a second coat if needed, then seal with Top Coat.
What is the difference to Leather Colour?
Fluid Leather (VW) has significantly higher pigmentation and comes in a 20 ml tube – perfect for spot repairs. Leather Colour is available in 250 ml or 1 liter and is sprayed/wiped for large-area applications. For a single crack → Fluid Leather, for an entire seat surface → Leather Colour.
Do I absolutely need Top Coat?
Yes – Fluid Leather has no sealant of its own. Without Top Coat, the repair will rub off within a few weeks in heavily stressed areas (seat bolster, steering wheel). Use Top Coat Dull for an original matte look, Glossy for a slight sheen.
What are the most common mistakes we see?
Classics: (1) Damaged area not degreased – poor color adhesion. (2) Too much material at once – looks like a repair instead of original. (3) No Top Coat – repair comes off. With filler + sanding + thin application + Top Coat, it lasts 2+ years.
Is one 20 ml tube enough for an entire steering wheel?
For a completely worn-out steering wheel, probably not – we would plan for 2 tubes. For classic 12 o'clock abrasion over 4–5 cm in length, one tube is easily enough for 5–8 repairs.

Fluid Leather (VW) is the special solution for spot repairs - individual cracks, scratches or minor scuffs up to approx. 5x5 cm. Large-area repairs require Leather Colour in 250 ml or 1 liter containers.
The high pigmentation and the tube format make Fluid Leather extremely economical and precise - even on dark leathers, one coat is often enough for full coverage. However, for repairs larger than 5x5 cm or entire seat bolsters, the contents of the tube would not be sufficient, and dabbing by hand would be uneconomical. Suede and velour surfaces require Nubuk Fresh (VW) anyway, as Fluid Leather would stick to the rough texture.
If only 12 o'clock steering wheel abrasion or individual cracks are to be repaired, Fluid Leather is the most economical and precise choice. If entire seat groups, steering wheels or door panels are to be restored, it is worth switching to Leather Colour (VW) or the Complete Repair Set (VW) with all components.
