What is GYEON Q² Trim EVO? GYEON Q² Trim EVO is a ceramic trim dressing that brings deep, lasting black back to faded, washed-out exterior plastic and seals the surface with a SiO₂ protective layer – for long-lasting black trim without regular touch-ups.

Detailing1's tip from the shop: For badly greyed or heavily soiled plastic, we'd clean it thoroughly with the GYEON Q²M TrimCleaner before Q² Trim EVO. Really greyed surfaces can also be warmed up briefly with a heat gun – that opens the pores of the plastic and lets the product sink in far deeper. Then lay Q² Trim EVO down thin, let it soak in and wipe off the excess.

Why exterior plastic greys and how Q² Trim EVO fights back

Polypropylene (PP) and other exterior plastics used in car manufacturing get pigments and additives during production that give the material its black colour. Over time, UV attacks these compounds – the pigments bleach out, plasticisers migrate to the surface and oxidise. The result is that classic whitish-grey film on black trim. GYEON Q² Trim EVO penetrates the plastic surface with SiO₂ compounds that fill the pores and cut down the outgassing of plasticisers. To get the most out of Q² Trim EVO, first clean the trim thoroughly with the Q²M TrimCleaner and strip off old products, wax and oil residue. On heavily greyed surfaces, warm them up briefly with a heat gun (40–60°C). Then apply Q² Trim EVO to the plastic with an applicator or a piece of microfibre and spread it evenly – on textured surfaces, circular motions get you even coverage. After the dwell time, wipe off the excess with a clean cloth. The result shows straight away – deep black for good once it's fully cured.
